The Foundation of the Deep: The Bottlenose Dolphin and Krill
To understand the world of the Bottlenose Dolphin, one must look at a small but vital creature: Krill. These shrimp-like crustaceans grow to only about 5 cm (2.0 in) in length, yet they live in massive swarms that sustain the entire ocean. While found throughout the sea, krill thrive in cold polar regions, grazing on the nutrient-rich algae that grow beneath the ice.
Krill are the cornerstone of the marine food web. They are a primary food source for dolphins, whales, seals, and penguins alike. Even species that do not eat krill directly depend on those that do, creating a life-sustaining link for nearly all ocean inhabitants. The ecological importance of this tiny organism is far greater than its small size suggests.

Inspired by the ocean and the earth, we have reimagined the bookmark's string as a whale’s water spout or a plant's stem. Let the cool spray from a blowhole or a fresh green stem guide your place in a book, adding a small touch of joy to the beginning and end of your reading.
Practical Features
Writeable Backside: The back of the card features a few subtle lines accompanied by a small Bottlenose Dolphin illustration. It offers space to write a short message, a favorite quote, or a specific page number.
Functional Packaging: Instead of a standard envelope, the bookmark comes with a thick paper holder. A precision-cut slit in the middle allows you to secure the bookmark firmly.
Thoughtful Design: Slide the dolphin into the slit so it appears to be peeking just above the water's surface. This holder prevents the bookmark from bending or fraying and serves as an elegant gift wrap.
