Clover plays a vital role in our ecosystem by absorbing nitrogen from the air and converting it into nutrients for the soil. This process is made possible through a symbiotic relationship with root nodule bacteria. The clover provides a safe, oxygen-free home for the bacteria within its roots, and in return, it receives a steady supply of nitrogen. While all plants need nitrogen, legumes are among the few with the unique ability to transfer it from the atmosphere into the earth.
